Guidelines for Players

These guidelines are aimed at players and other users of artificial turf pitches. They focus on simple behavioural changes that can reduce the amount of granule material carried away from a pitch on clothing, footwear and equipment and subsequently released to land or drainage systems. The material complements measures aimed at pitch owners, maintenance teams and procurement specialists by recognising that user behaviour also affects pollution. The guidance is presented as practical advice that is easy to follow and can be used alongside KIMO’s other best-practice resources on artificial turf microplastics. It supports a whole-facility approach to preventing granule losses.
