Marine Litter Lost at Sea

This KIMO UK educational resource helps primary-school pupils explore what happens to marine litter after it enters the ocean. The activity pack includes simple floating and sinking experiments and an interactive exercise called Plastic Adrift, based on the real 1992 incident in which around 29,000 rubber ducks were lost at sea. The activities encourage pupils to think about how litter moves, where it can accumulate and why marine pollution can travel far from its original source. The resource was designed for classroom use, with activities that can be adapted for different age groups and used without specialist equipment.
