Overview

Ameland combines 27 kilometres of North Sea beach with dunes, salt marshes and Wadden Sea habitats. Current environmental work includes supporting Wadden Sea seagrass restoration and climate adaptation. In 2026 Ameland received Green Destinations QualityCoast Gold status, recognising its wider sustainability work within the UNESCO Wadden Sea.
