Overview

Terschelling contains extensive Wadden Sea waters and internationally important habitats including De Boschplaat. The municipality works with partners on nature restoration, including Wadden Sea seagrass recovery and projects supporting underwater habitat. In 2026 Terschelling received Green Destinations QualityCoast Gold status for sustainable destination management.
