Overview

Waterford has a diverse coastline including four Blue Flag beaches, seven Green Coast beaches and the Copper Coast UNESCO Global Geopark, plus the environmentally important Waterford Harbour estuary. The council supports Clean Coasts, beach clean-ups and plastic pollution campaigns and joined KIMO in 2025 to strengthen cooperation on Irish Sea protection.
