South East Technological University (SETU) is a multi-campus university in Ireland with expertise across science, engineering, sustainability and marine-related research.
In 2026, SETU and KIMO International signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on marine environmental challenges. The partnership will develop research initiatives to improve understanding of environmental stresses, support educational programmes and explore measures to reduce harmful impacts on marine ecosystems. SETU also provides research and academic support across KIMO’s network of European coastal municipalities, helping connect scientific knowledge with the practical challenges faced by local authorities. The partnership strengthens KIMO’s ability to draw on research and innovation when developing practical environmental solutions.
