Evaluation of Green Deals: Marine Litter (2019)

This evaluation reviews three Dutch Green Deals addressing marine litter and assesses the results of collaborative approaches involving government, industry, municipalities and other stakeholders. It covers work on fisheries-related waste and cleaner beaches, including pilot activities, networking, knowledge exchange, communication and efforts to improve waste management. The evaluation considers progress made through the Green Deal approach and identifies lessons for continuing cooperation on marine litter. It is useful as evidence of how voluntary partnerships and practical pilots can support pollution prevention and cleaner coastal environments, while also highlighting areas where stronger measures, coordination or continued stakeholder engagement may be needed.
