KIMO, Shaping the European Oceans Pact

This document sets out KIMO’s contribution to the European Commission’s work on the European Oceans Pact. KIMO uses the opportunity to present coastal municipalities’ perspectives on how EU ocean policy should develop and highlights the need for coordinated action for healthy and resilient seas and coastal communities. The contribution links three perspectives: how society affects the ocean, how changes in the ocean affect coastal communities and the opportunities provided by the sea. It demonstrates how KIMO seeks to bring local and municipal experience into European and international policy discussions.
