Resolution 23/01

This resolution addresses black carbon emissions from shipping and calls for measures to reduce their climate and health impacts. KIMO highlights the importance of reducing emissions from maritime activity, particularly where pollutants can affect coastal communities and sensitive marine and Arctic environments. The resolution supports stronger policy and regulatory measures to accelerate the reduction of black carbon from ships. It forms part of KIMO’s wider work on shipping-related pollution and environmental protection and provides a policy basis for engagement with governments and maritime authorities.
